Fulbright Visiting Scholars at UConn

The Global Training and Development Institute (GTDI) supports international scholars seeking opportunities to engage with the University of Connecticut’s faculty, research centers, and innovation ecosystem. GTDI can help prospective Fulbright Scholars identify potential UConn connections and explore opportunities for academic collaboration during their proposed U.S. research experience.

Welcoming Dr. Rinni Singh

In November 2026, GTDI will welcome Dr. Rinni Singh, a Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Scholar from India, for a four-month research project at UConn.

Dr. Singh’s project, “From Frugal to Global: Cross-Pollinating Incubation Policy Between India and the U.S.,” examines approaches to university-based entrepreneurship, incubation, and innovation policy in the two countries. During her time at UConn, she will engage with faculty, entrepreneurship and innovation programs, and other members of the university community to examine how universities support researchers and entrepreneurs in translating ideas into viable ventures.

Her work will explore lessons that can be shared across the U.S. and Indian innovation ecosystems, including approaches to incubation, entrepreneurship education, institutional partnerships, and policies that support university-based innovation. The project is expected to contribute to a comparative framework and practical recommendations for strengthening incubation and entrepreneurship programs.
