The Nutritional Sciences Summer Program at the University of Connecticut (UConn) offers international undergraduate students a unique three-week academic and cultural experience. Participants take part in the non-credit course “Food, Culture, and Society,” while exploring New England’s rich cultural and social environments.
Program Overview
During this three-week summer program (held in July 2024), students will:

Attend weekday classes for approximately 3 hours per day.
 - 
Participate in day trips to Boston and New York City on weekends.
 - 
Visit UConn’s Cultural Centers and experience local attractions.
 - 
Engage in cultural experiences offered by both UConn and surrounding towns.

Accommodations and Dining
Participants will stay in UConn residence halls and enjoy meals at UConn Dining Halls. Nearby, Storrs Center offers restaurants, cafes, and shops for additional dining and leisure options.
Academic Experience
Students will take part in the course “Food, Culture, and Society,” which explores the relationship between food, identity, and society. This course is equivalent to 3 academic credits, and students may be eligible to receive credit from their home institutions.

Program Fee
The program fee ranges from $4,500 to $5,500 per student, depending on the number of participants.
The fee includes:
