Discover how food connects history, culture, and innovation. This course focuses on regional differences for different cultures, and examines trends in current food or dietary behaviors amongst different cultural groups. Explore how geography, economics, and belief systems shape global food traditions, and gain insight into the cultural forces behind what we eat today

Hot Topics in Energy Transition

Explore the cutting-edge technologies driving the global shift toward renewable and alternative energy. This course introduces principles behind various types of energy, including solar cells, batteries, hydrogen storage, and their various applications. Students will also explore implementation of advanced materials, and AI.

American Studies

This course approaches American Studies by examining the United States as a global cultural actor. It explores how ideas of “America,” identity, and belonging are constructed, experienced, and challenged in different contexts, and how U.S. cultural and social structures shape inclusion and exclusion. Using a comparative and global perspective, students analyze cultural artifacts and institutions to understand how “America” is conceptualized both within the United States and around the world.
